The Catholic Ministries Appeal is far more than sustaining diocesan ministries – it is one way we respond together to Christ’s invitation: “Remain in Me, as I remain in you.” Through the appeal, our parishes unite to support ministries that help people encounter Jesus Christ, deepen their relationship with Him, and live as His disciples in our communities.

A message from Fr. Alex:

The Catholic Ministries Appeal is a crucial way for us to support the incredible ministry of our Diocese. St. Benedict Cathedral has not participated in this appeal in well over a decade. As a result, we have not receive the important information from the Diocese about the great work that is being done in our midst. We have not had the chance to receive the Impact Report, which tells the stories of people who have been served by our parishes. Most importantly, it has prevented us from sharing in this beautiful work in an intentional way.

In the past, we have paid our portion of the Catholic Ministries Appeal through our Sunday Giving. This means that we are paying the price, but not receiving the benefits of this appeal. Your contributions to this appeal help to sustain our Catholic Schools Office, our Office of Catechesis, the work of Communications and the tireless work of so many who help to keep our local Church moving in the right direction. Not to mention, the Catholic Ministries Appeal is the vehicle through which half of my salary is paid, since I serve as the Diocesan Vicar General.

I have the privilege of working alongside some incredible men and women who have dedicated their lives to Christ. I hope you will join me in participating in this very important appeal that helps our diocese to continue it's day to day operations. Your gift makes an impact on thousands of lives and souls who are searching for Christ.

To give to this Appeal, you can complete the pledge card that was sent to your household in late September. Or you can click on the link below to make your gift. Everyone needs to consider for themselves what they are able to offer, but we humbly ask you to consider 1-2% of your annual income.
