Building for Mission

Campaign Progress

St. Benedict Cathedral achieved an incredible milestone of $6 million during the Building for Mission Capital Campaign over the last weekend of March 2025. Reaching this amount has enabled us to pay off our Parish debt and begin the process of a series of improvements. The Campaign Cabinet wishes to thank all the volunteers and parishioners who gave their time, talents, and gifts.

Building for Mission Milestones

$818,000             Debt Elimination

The debt repayment to the Diocese of $818,000 was paid in its entirety in March. This is a major step for the financial health of the parish. Based on feedback as part of the Building for Mission Capital Campaign, achieving debt free status was viewed as an essential component of our long-range plans. This marks the first time in 15 years that we have not had a debt. I cannot thank you enough for helping us accomplish this key component of our overall plans. This will save us roughly $160,000 a year that can now be focused on ministries and operational advancement

$336,000             St. Benedict Hall Rooftop Unit

An exciting aspect of our longer-term plans for improving the HVAC systems on campus began on May 28 with the installation of the replacement St. Benedict Hall (school) roof top unit (RTU), the principal HVAC system component. Operational reliability and obtaining replacement parts for the existing RTU had become an ongoing concern. The new Carrier RTU, expected to be operational by June 11, will afford reliable heating and cooling for years to come. Cost for this project is approximately $336,000. The photo below shows the RTU being lifted into position onto the roof of St. Benedict Hall.

$335,040 New Heating and Air Conditioning in Gymnasium

On July 1, 2026, new air handlers were lifted onto the roof of our school to provide heated and cooled air to our gymnasium. Our gym has never been heated or cooled, so this will make it a lot more comfortable for our children who compete, our adults who play pickleball and our fans who cheer them on.  This is yet another wonderful project made possible by your generosity to our Building for Mission Campaign!

New Parish Center under Renovation

Progress is underway on renovating the old doctor's office on the corner of Willow and Lincoln. This space will become our new parish center to provide accommodations for our growing staff. It will allow for meeting rooms that are handicap accessible. We look forward to the completion of this work in the new few months!
