Baptisms

St. Benedict Cathedral Parish rejoices in the growth of our parish and the Church through the Sacrament of Baptism.

Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213: Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.”

Anyone over the age of reason (typically seven years old) prepares for the Sacraments of Initiation through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Under the age of seven, when a child is baptized, reception of First Holy Communion and Confirmation comes at a later time.

If you’re interested in having a child baptized, please complete the following form and a member of the pastoral staff will contact you.

Our Sacred Purpose

at St. Benedict Cathedral is to become HOLY DISCIPLES, generous with God’s gifts for building the kingdom, on the path to heaven.  In the midst of a welcoming community in the Benedictine tradition, we embrace the teachings of our faith by celebrating Word and Sacrament as we grow in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
