Did you know that 1 in 6 people in our Tri-State area is struggling with food insecurity? Today as we celebrate the gift of the Body and Blood of Christ, please pray for those who are hungry, malnourished and starving. Is there a family or individual you know who needs assistance? Please call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that together we can help those who are hungry. When we make our weekly calls, we can also help with emergency food vouchers to the SVDP Food Pantry in addition to our help with rent, utility bills and clothes. Plus, the St. Ben’s Society hosts the soup kitchen bi-monthly serving around 100 people on the fourth Saturday of every odd month. With the current COVID restrictions, our group has been individually volunteering to fill sack lunches with sandwiches, fruit and snacks to fill this need. Often, we help clients with appliance vouchers for refrigerators or ovens so that they can store and prepare the food they need to feed their family. Helping the hungry may look different than in the days of St. Vincent de Paul, but we are still working hard to use your generous donations to feed the poor. Thank you for your help in our mission.
