From Fr. Godfrey
— THANKSGIVING. As we approach our national holiday for giving thanks, I encourage all of us to practice a regular mindset of gratitude. For our nation, it’s one day a year; for Catholic believers, we’re called to give thanks always and everywhere, because it is right and just, our duty and our salvation. Gratitude cures jealousy. Authentic gratitude tames pride, because God has given every good gift. Gratitude heals old wounds when I can see beyond the one offense to the gracious truth of the bigger picture. When we are grateful, our lives will change for the better. So let us truly give thanks to Almighty God.
— ONE BULLETIN. This is a two-week bulletin, partly because of Thanksgiving, and partly because of the wedding of our parish administrative assistant, Kelley (Coppens) Knies. Kelley, may you and John live in peace and joy all the days of your life. Enjoy your time off!
— THANK YOU to Tami & Rick Orr, the Style Show Committee and all who helped with the event. It appears that the three-hour event will net nearly $45,000! What a blessing that is to all of us.
— RCIA. We’re now six weeks into RCIA, but it’s not too late for those interested in the Catholic Church to join in. If you know of anyone who has been thinking about it, I encourage you to offer a gentle nudge. We have a good and lively group again this year. May God bless all our candidates and catechumens.
