Stewardship opportunities are available at Saint Benedict Cathedral. Stewardship is the offering of time, talent, and treasure for our parish. See the menu listing at the top, or browse downward.


Adopt-A-Spot

Parishioners are encouraged to volunteer to maintain and care for a section of the parish grounds, to plant flowers, trim shrubs, and maintain that area during the year. Call PTO Co-Presidents Laurel Bonenberger 402-1974 and Megan McCombs – 204-3375 to identify the spot you will maintain!


Bingo Association

These parishioners volunteer to serve patrons of the weekly parish bingo held on Monday at 6:30 PM in the Cafeteria. The proceeds from this organization finance various projects throughout the parish. Contact: Mark Wolf - 479-8394


Parish Meal Helpers

Volunteers are needed to help prepare, serve and clean-up for parish meals such as parish dinners and fish frys. These are great opportunities to socialize with other parishioners and to offer your gifts of time and talent for important parish fund raisers. Contact: Parish Center - 425-3369


Summer Social

Summer Social: St. Ben’s Summer Social is an important community-builder and fund-raiser, gathering friends and neighbors within the parish, and reaching out to the larger community beyond our Parish boundaries. The social is held the 3rd weekend in May. All parishioners are encouraged to attend.

Volunteers are needed in many areas to help prepare and serve food, work various booths, sell ride tickers, and sell gaming tickets. It’s a great chance to socialize with other parishioners and to offer your gifts of time and talent for an important parish fund raiser. Contact: Parish Center - 425-3369


Quilters

The Summer Social Quilters meet in the Parish Center on Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM. Quilts produced during the year by the Summer Social Quilters are raffled at the St. Ben’s Summer Social. Anyone who would like to learn to quilt, will find good teachers here, too. Contact: Darlene Kaiser - 476-7554


St. Vincent DePaul Society

St. Vincent DePaul Society’s primary purpose is the spiritual development of its members by helping those in need. Members go in teams on Monday evening to make home visits to assess needs and assist families with their rent, utilities, furniture, food and other needs. Volunteer member activities include weekly visitation to the patients of the State Hospital and Little Sisters of the Poor. Some members volunteer with Ozanam shelter, St. Vincent DePaul stores and the food pantry. The society funds its activities through monthly contributions from parishioners. Meetings are held on Monday evenings at 7:30 PM in the Parish Center. For additional information contact Lynn Mattingly - 476-5518


Tuesday Morning Men’s Volunteer Group

A group of parish men with time to give, gathers each Tuesday from 9:30 AM to noon to assist with various projects around the parish: painting, minor maintenance jobs and other improvements. Inside tasks are performed in inclement weather. Outside painting and yard work, etc. are fair weather projects. This group is made up of retired men or those who work second or third shifts and have Tuesday mornings free. Contact: Don Kaiser - 476-7554


Organizational Services

Organizational Services is group of parish volunteers prepares printed communications for mailing, provides supplemental clerical assistance at the Parish Center and periodically updates the parish census. Contact: Martha Deuerling - 475-9998


SCRIP

Certificates and gift cards are redeemable at face value at participating businesses. The school and church benefit by receiving a percentage from vendors for each certificate purchased. A portion of the proceeds may be designated as a credit toward the purchaser’s tuition bill. School and church families are needed to support this endeavor by purchasing SCRIP certificates.
