Knights of Columbus (K of C)

Knights of Columbus: St. Benedict Cathedral Council 7544 meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the K of C House, 427 S Willow Rd. Contact: Pat Pitt at 473-3594, or Bill Burnett at 476-7949.

The K of C, founded by Fr. Michael J McGivney, is based on four principles of CHARITY, UNITY, FRATERNITY and PATRIOTISM. To become a full Knight, each member is encouraged to attain the Third Degree level. After which, he can go on to the Fourth Degree, the one that embodies patriotism and is the most visible of all the Degrees. It is through their participation in these areas that Knights receive their greatest and often most personal rewards.

Together, members of the Knights of Columbus improve their world through remarkable achievements and staggering numbers such as $1.1 billion raised and distributed to the Church, community, youth and fellowman in the past 10 years. Knights worked 593 million volunteer hours in service and contributed $38 million to aid and support thousands of seminarians and postulants in their religious journey since 1980.
